We’re the Pavers Scottsdale Loves!

At Arizona Turf and Paver, we’re always glad to help — that’s why we’re the pavers Scottsdale loves. We’re here with paver insights that will get you started fast with these valuable tools. Pavers are a natural solution to help you tie your landscaping together and add visual flair. Yet, the average homeowner isn’t aware of pavers’ amazing versatility.

What Are Pavers?

There’s no “official” definition of a paver, so when you talk to someone about pavers, it helps to be sure you’re really talking about the same thing. For us, a paver is a hardscaping element usually made out of concrete or stone. They’re typically around an inch thick, but can be thicker or thinner.

The Aesthetic Appeal of Pavers

There are thousands of different varieties of pavers and they can fit into any décor or architectural style. In addition to paver materials, you can customize their color, shape, and texture. Inexpensive concrete pavers offer extraordinary value because they can “impersonate” luxury materials such as marble.

The best way to decide which pavers will work for you is to request paver samples from your installer and see how they look on your property. With an experienced Arizona paver installer like us, you won’t have to worry about paying top dollar at builder supply stores. We leverage supplier relationships to get savings for you.

There are so many different ways to use pavers:

  • Near your home: Choose colors that complement your walls or roof to enhance your curb appeal

  • In the garden: The right shapes, colors, and textures can help your plants pop visually even more

  • Outdoor features: Choose pavers that capture the essence of your outdoor kitchen or other area

At Arizona Turf and Paver, we love putting on our thinking caps and helping customers come up with new ways to use pavers. That’s just one of the reasons we’re the pavers Scottsdale loves! With a little help from us, you’ll be ready to beautify your property with pavers in a plan that will fit your budget and timeline. From there, it’s all about your Arizona paver installation project.

What to Know About Paver Installation

Many homeowners decide to try pavers for their weekend DIY. Sadly, the square footage of the area you intend to cover with pavers can make this prohibitive. You may need hundreds or even thousands of pavers. That quickly runs into the hundreds of pounds and requires plenty of hauling capacity.

Paver installation is made easier with the professionals because we can work with you to determine your goals, lay out the pattern or pathways that your pavers will cover, and then transport the pavers directly to your site. We typically already have the pavers you need at our warehouse and don’t have to source them at retail.

Although there’s a lot of physical work involved in paver installation, it goes by quickly once you’ve done the planning. At Arizona Turf and Paver, we strive to get the job done in one day. Once pavers are laid, you will usually never need to worry about maintenance. They are designed to stand up to heat and not erode.

What happens if you change your mind about pavers and want to move them? As they settle in, they can leave noticeable indentations on natural grass and sand but do not do any damage. If you want to be absolutely sure your property will look terrific even if you move your pavers around, consider installing artificial turf.

Do Pavers Require Maintenance?

Pavers generally don’t require maintenance, and they are even less demanding in Arizona. Our warm, arid climate eliminates the biggest risk to pavers, moisture infiltration. Moisture infiltration can be especially troublesome with concrete pavers in a humid climate. It causes them to develop cracks!

Not only is that exceptionally rare here in Arizona, but you can gain an extra layer of protection by asking that your pavers be sealed. Nearly any paver can be treated with sealant, even if it didn’t come pre-treated from a manufacturer. Sealant makes moisture damage virtually impossible.

If your pavers are sealed, the sealant will need to be reapplied every 3-5 years.
